This is something that has gone through my mind repeatedly, in many different forms and opinions – and direction – for a long time. With it always boiling down to the same question in the the end…
“Why?”
I’m no closer to an answer. Alas.
I don’t know if this is germane but a friend recently suggested that people stop using the word “why?” because it’s merely an excuse which sets up the person (answering the question) to avoid responsibility. He suggests we ask “how come?” instead because it creates connections between actions and thots-actions, which ultimately helps us track the path that led to this moment…
Aaaaand apparently, I’m also no closer to an answer.
